The Fortigo Business Rules Engine enables users to specify business rules and constraints based on their company strategy, as well as their partners and customers requirements. For instance, business rules can specify preferred carriers and service levels for certain business units, customers, products, or locations.
| Rule priority | Each business rule is assigned a priority. Higher priority rules are applied before lower priority rules. |
| Transportation business rules | Transportation business rules take into account certain criteria and specify how a shipment is transported including carrier, service level, ship method, and account to charge. The criteria supported are: order category (project), paying party for transportation, shipment reason, origin, destination, and weight of the shipment. |
| Business rule expiration | A business rule may be in effect indefinately or for a specific time period. |
