Fortigo Doubles Revenue
Logistics Leader Leaves Austin technology Incubator, Adds Staff, Moves to New Headquarters
AUSTIN, Texas, USA (October 27, 2004) — Fortigo Inc., logistics cost management (LCM) experts, today announced it has left its previous location at the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), added programming staff, moved to new headquarters and expects a record fiscal year in sales.
"The need for solutions that automate, optimize and audit logistics processes is awesome and growing," said founder and president Dr. George Kontoravdis. "We are in high-growth mode and our monthly revenues have doubled in fiscal '04."
"We've been remarkably impressed with Fortigo's rapid growth, penetration into Fortune 100 accounts and laser-like focus on customer needs," added Joel Wiggins, director of ATI. "Particularly notable is the fact that Fortigo has taken its product directly to customers and achieved profitability with no venture capitalist funding."
ATI, the entrepreneurial arm of the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas, has mentored more than 140 young companies, by providing office space, coaching them on crucial initiatives and connecting them with investors. ATI companies have generated more than $1.5B in revenue and raised some $720M in outside capital.
The new Fortigo headquarters are located at 8310 N. Capital of Texas Highway, in Austin. Fortigo recently announced a technology initiative powering its managed service called On Demand Logistics, which offers shippers the flexibility to deploy logistics applications with a few mouse clicks and does not require any internal IT resources. Users have complete control over the functionality deployed while realizing immediate benefits.
On-Demand Logistics is ideal for organizations with dynamic shipping volume and growing software requirements. By simply mixing and matching different modules to address key pain points, enterprises can generally drive down bottom line logistics costs by at least 5 to 15 percent. The solution can be deployed in days and costs only a fraction of the savings clients actually realize when using it.
