Fortigo Introduces On-Demand Logistics for Online Auctions
Solution Embraced by Auction Partner; Helps Minimize Sell-to-Ship Times, Offers Detailed In-Transit Visibility
AUSTIN, Texas, USA (December 6, 2004) — Fortigo Inc., logistics cost management (LCM) software experts, today announced it has introduced a set of tools optimized for online auction power sellers, which it identifies as the close to 50,000 auction management vendors moving more than 100 shipments per day.
Auction Partner, an Austin-based auction management vendor, is among the first customers for the new Fortigo solution.

Darlene MacAuley, president of Auction Partner, noted the simplicity with which Fortigo translates shipping data collected from auctions on eBay into specific delivery instructions that enforce business rules and quickly move freight onto and off of the Auction Partner warehouse floor. "We use eBay, almost exclusively, to identify buyers," she explained. "Being able to quickly move shipping data about origin, destination and package dimension from our auction management software into Fortigo and seamlessly integrate it with data from our transportation carriers has made a huge difference for us."
The Fortigo solution automates shipping decisions, tracks in transit shipments, manages exceptions and monitors carrier performance and compliance. Financial terms of the Auction Partner agreement were not disclosed.
