Fortigo First Certified Vendor to Support New Airborne Web-Based Shipping and Tracking

AUSTIN, Texas, USA (August 6, 2002) — Fortigo Inc., logistics cost management (LCM) software experts, today announced the company is the first third-party vendor to be certified to provide brand-new web-based shipping and tracking for Airborne Express (NYSE: ABF). Through the use of Airborne's API (application programming interface), Fortigo has fully integrated Airborne shipping and tracking functionality into its software. The new capabilities are currently in use by Fortigo customers.

"Airborne is making strong headway into the area of web-based services," said John Kruzan, eCommerce manager for Airborne Express. "Working with third-party vendors like Fortigo strengthens our ability to satisfy our growing base of customers by increasing the channels through which we deliver our cost efficient, reliable services."

Access to Airborne shipping and tracking from within the Fortigo software product widens the range of options available to companies for managing and controlling their logistics processes. For example, Airborne customers familiar with Airborne's "dependable delivery for less" approach can save even more money by using Fortigo to automate, optimize and audit their logistics across the value chain.

"Providing real-time, web-based integration with Airborne extends our carrier-neutral logistics cost management offering," said Dr. George Kontoravdis, Fortigo founder and president. "We help our customers streamline the execution of their logistics, enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Fortigo's advanced decision support capabilities take into account a wide variety of logistics parameters such as corporate business rules, carrier contracts, customer and vendor service level agreements, multiple rate sheets, delivery zones and transit times."

Fortigo seeks to eliminate the nearly $30 billion in inefficiencies and waste in enterprise logistics decision-making. As companies generally spend 10% of revenue on logistics costs; shaving a single percentage point off of those costs can amount to annual savings of many millions of dollars for companies.
